Webinar: Green Infrastructure – Advancing Nature-Based Solutions to Urban Challenges
February 14, 2018 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm EST
The Kresge Foundation and Earth Economics invite you to attend a webinar presentation on tools for advancing nature-based solutions and green infrastructure within your community.
How to Register
Please register for Green Infrastructure: Advancing Nature-Based Solutions to Urban Challenges. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar.
Natural assets like parks, street trees, and floodplains provide a broad range of benefits for urban communities such as flood risk reduction, clean air, and opportunities for recreation. These benefits build community climate resilience and support resident health and equity. However, many of our most important infrastructure and community design decisions continue to be made without fully considering the resilient and cost-effective solutions provided by nature. Nature does not have a seat at the planning table!
We are pleased to partner with Earth Economics to support community-based organizations and agencies considering nature-based solutions to address their pressing challenges. We invite you to hear directly from Earth Economics about tools and strategies to advance green infrastructure and other climate resilience efforts.
The webinar will introduce:
- Green infrastructure, ecosystem services, and ecosystem valuation concepts.
- A roadmap for assessing and advancing green infrastructure opportunities in your community or agency.
- Case studies demonstrating the project and policy applications of the framework.
- A menu of free services that Earth Economics can offer to community-based organizations and agency partners including education, analysis, and policy/funding recommendations.
